American Farm Bureau Supports IHA!

Another major milestone for the Industrial Hemp Act: national support from one of agriculture's most influential voices! The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) has officially adopted IHA policy into its latest 2024 AFBF Policy Book, which "contains the philosophies and beliefs of America’s farm and ranch families." The policy book is updated annually, with "Farm Bureau members in more than 2,800 counties meet[ing] to discuss and vote on policies affecting their farms, ranches, and communities. Those policies then set the agenda for their state Farm Bureaus and ultimately AFBF." The book "serve[s] to direct the actions of the American Farm Bureau Federation, the nation’s largest, most influential farm organization."

The new policy as adopted and supported by AFBF is as follows:

1.25. [AFBF supports] Legislation that delineates industrial hemp grain and fiber from cannabinoid floral hemp by definition and regulation, including removing background checks and mandatory THC testing for industrial hemp grown for grain, fiber, or industrial seed production.

We appreciate the hard work of the AgHs team, as well as the National Hemp Association and the Oregon Farm Bureau to establish national support from farmers across America for IHA policies! The full language of the Industrial Hemp Act can be found here: S. 980 and H.R. 3755. You can download the 2024 AFBF Policy Book with IHA policy below:
